OUr community
Our Parish, St. Silouan Orthodox Church is a growing community of Orthodox Christians located in College Station, TX. We are pleased to have visitors worship with us and we pray that you will be blessed through your experience in our services. Our parish is like a large, extended family. We have potlucks, movie nights, birthdays, birthday, wedding, and many other celebrations, but our number one focus is to help our faithful grow, strengthen, maintain, and preserve their spiritual wellbeing of Orthodox Christianity. Learn a bit about our community below. We can’t wait for you to join us in prayer and worship of our Lord, Jesus Christ! This parish is named after St. Silouan the Athonite, the Venerable and God-bearing Father. We seek to humbly dedicate our lives unto Christ our God through prayer, participation in the mystical life of the Orthodox Church, reading of the Scriptures and Church Fathers, and through serving each other and our surrounding community. We are a mission in the Diocese of the West of the Orthodox Church in America. MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of St. Silouan Orthodox Christian Church is to be a beacon of Orthodox Christian spiritual life in Bryan-College Station. We strive together to live our Orthodox Christian Faith in a healthy way that forms Christian character, by participating regularly in the services, prayers, disciplines, and Sacraments of the Holy Orthodox Church. The community of St. Silouan calls all people to Christ Jesus in His Church. We share the joy of Christ in our lives with those around us, educating people about the truth of this ancient faith in the Holy Trinity. We offer the love of Christ to those in need, in both word and action. |
